This pair of aftermarket replacement rear crankshaft rope seals services the rear crankshaft housing cover on early Perkins 4- and 6-cylinder diesel engines. The rope-style seal prevents oil leakage at the rear of the crankshaft and is a common replacement item during engine overhaul or when oil seeping from the rear main is detected. Two pieces are required per engine. Note: this rope seal fits early versions of the listed Perkins engine series only -- late versions of these engines use a lip seal instead. Does NOT fit Perkins 4.203 or smaller engines.
