One New Aftermarket Replacement Steering Sector Gear for MTD / Cub Cadet Riding Lawn Tractors

This crescent-shaped metal steering sector gear is a key component of the front steering system on MTD-platform riding lawn tractors. The steering shaft drives a pinion gear that meshes against this sector gear, translating rotation of the steering wheel into left-right movement of the drag links and front wheels. When the sector gear teeth wear or become damaged, steering becomes loose or unresponsive -- this direct replacement restores precise steering control. Note: inspect the mating pinion gear (717-1554) when replacing this part, as wear on one gear commonly causes wear on the other.
