This safety start neutral switch (also called a neutral safety switch or starter safety switch) mounts on top of the shift tower and prevents the engine from starting unless the transmission is in neutral. It is a 12-volt, 2-terminal screw-type switch compatible with Ford Select-O-Speed, 4-speed, and torque converter transmissions (1965 and up).
