This rewind starter (also called a recoil starter) is a direct replacement Fits Briggs and Stratton engines used in lawn mowers and other outdoor power equipment. When you pull the starter cord, the rewind spring retracts the rope, engages the clutch, and cranks the engine to start it. Over time the rope, reel, or spring can wear out -- this assembly replaces the complete unit. Replaces OEM part number 704942.
