This foam air cleaner filter (also called a foam air filter element) fits into the air cleaner assembly on select Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton small engines. It traps dirt, dust, and debris before they can enter the carburetor and engine, protecting against premature wear and maintaining clean airflow for reliable combustion. This style of foam filter works by holding a light coating of engine oil throughout the foam medium to capture fine particles. Fits Briggs and Stratton recommend replacing the foam filter every 3 months or 25 hours of use, whichever comes first -- more frequently in dusty operating conditions.
