This aftermarket replacement buffer seal (Caterpillar part number 1709850) is a hydraulic cylinder sealing component used in the boom, stick, and bucket cylinders of Cat excavators and heavy equipment. Buffer seals are positioned in front of the primary rod seal to absorb pressure spikes and cushion shock loads, protecting the primary seals from premature wear and extending overall hydraulic cylinder service life.
