This front crankshaft seal group (Seal Gp) fits Caterpillar 3176-series and C-series diesel engines used in construction equipment, excavators, articulated trucks, motor graders, wheel loaders, and Challenger agricultural machines. The front crankshaft seal retains engine oil and prevents external contamination from entering the oil system, sealing the front end of the crankshaft where it exits the engine block. It must withstand high rotational speeds and elevated operating temperatures typical of heavy-duty Cat diesel applications.
