One New Aftermarket Replacement Zinc Anode Rod for Caterpillar (Cat) Marine Engines
This zinc anode rod is a sacrificial corrosion-protection component installed in the cooling system of Caterpillar marine diesel engines. Zinc anodes are consumed gradually in place of the surrounding engine metal, shielding cooling passages and internal components from galvanic corrosion caused by saltwater and dissimilar metals. Regular inspection and replacement of zinc anode rods is essential to protecting the long-term integrity of the engine cooling system.
