This intermediate (second compression) piston ring is a direct aftermarket replacement for the Caterpillar 3126 and 3126B diesel engine. Seated in the second ring groove of each piston, the intermediate ring works alongside the top compression ring to seal combustion gases and regulate oil consumption. Proper ring seal is critical during engine overhaul and re-ring service to restore compression and reduce blow-by. Sold individually.
