One New Aftermarket Replacement Ballast Resistor Fits Ford (Fits Ford/New Holland) N-Series Tractors
This ignition ballast resistor is a critical component Fits Ford 2N, 8N, and 9N tractors that have been converted from 6-volt to 12-volt electrical systems while retaining the original 6-volt ignition coil. Installed in the wire between the ignition switch and the coil, it steps voltage down from 12 volts to the 6 volts the coil requires -- protecting the ignition points and coil from premature failure. This is a resistor-only part; no mounting block is included.
Important: Fits Ford 8N tractors, this resistor is intended for use with the front-mount distributor configuration (serial numbers up to 263843). The Fits Ford 8N switched from front-mount to side-mount distributor at serial number 263843 in 1950. Verify your distributor configuration before ordering.
