This friction ring kit is a key component of the smooth clutch assembly on Murray and Snapper rear-engine riding mowers. Also referred to as a friction disc or drive disc, the ring engages the drive plate to transfer power to the wheels. A worn, slipping, or glazed friction ring will cause loss of drive -- replacing it restores proper forward and reverse motion. Fits Briggs and Stratton (B&S), Murray, Snapper, Fits Craftsman, Simplicity, Fits Ferris, and Snapper Pro equipment that uses the smooth clutch drive system.
