One New Aftermarket Replacement Governor Spring Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton Small Engines
This aftermarket replacement governor spring is designed for use with Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton small gasoline engines equipped with a mechanical governor. The governor spring maintains proper tension on the governor linkage, holding the throttle at the correct speed setting and allowing the governor to adjust throttle position in response to changing engine load. A worn or broken governor spring can cause erratic engine speed, hunting, surging, or an inability to hold a steady RPM under load. This part replaces OEM part number 691596 (also referenced as B1691596).
