This rewind starter assembly (also called a recoil or pull starter) is the complete pull-start mechanism Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton small engines used in lawn mowers and other outdoor power equipment. It is a complete assembly which includes a plastic shroud, starter pulley, recoil spring, grip, and pull rope. When the rope is pulled, the recoil spring engages the engine flywheel to crank and start the engine. This aftermarket replacement fits in place of Fits Briggs & Fits Stratton OEM part number 591606.
