This aftermarket replacement piston skirt (part number 155-5271) is the lower aluminum skirt half of Caterpillar's two-piece articulated piston design used in the large-displacement 3500-series diesel engines. The skirt reduces friction and guides the piston within the cylinder bore, and pairs with crown part number 172-0919 to form a complete piston assembly.
