This front drive propshaft (driveshaft) is a key drivetrain component on the Caterpillar 428 backhoe loader equipped with a Powershift transmission. It transmits engine power from the transmission forward to the front axle, and is engineered to accommodate the angle changes between the drivetrain and axle during machine operation. Note: This shaft is specific to Powershift transmission-equipped 428 models. A separate shaft is used on Manual transmission variants -- verify your transmission type before ordering.
