This governor motor assembly -- also known as a throttle motor or AS-Governor -- controls engine speed by managing throttle position on the Caterpillar 3054 diesel engine. It is an electrical actuator component that regulates engine RPM in response to operator input and load demand. This part mounts directly to the fuel injection pump governor on the 3054 engine and is a common wear or failure item on mid-size Cat excavators.
